Summer Classes
Please look at each one listed below. The Village School classes are for one (1) week – 5 class days only) where the Star Learning are for 4 weeks. The Art of Problem Solving Schedule varies. Look on line. This is not a complete list, but if you are interested, please look ASAP and apply. Star Learning (#2) has $50 to $100 off registration if you register by May 15, or $150 discount before May 1. Depending on your students TMSCA State Scores, he/she may be eligible for a scholarship to apply to the tuition for a camp. Last year we had about 15-20 students attending various number sense, calculator and general math at The Village School. Ms. Nal will be teaching at Star Learning this summer. For number sense and calculator, I must recommend The Village School. For General Math, both The Village and Star Learning have classes for TMSCA. Five days versus 4 weeks – it will depend on your schedule. Also, Star Learning has TMSCA/number Sense classes or AMC 8 Classes. Next year’s Math Clubs will be primarily run from the Competition Math Class Elective as 6th, 7th, and 8th graders may request this elective. There will not be math clubs every day after school. Therefore, strengthening and enriching one’s number sense, calculator and/or general math skills are encouraged. The Math Club is not offering scholarships for Science Camps. 1. The Village School – See attachment and link. The classes are for 5 days and are by topic. Ms. Curtice recommends the Number Sense, Calculator, and General Math. The Math Counts I and Math Counts II are good if you are just beginning your journey with Math Counts and want to become a better problem solver. http://www.TheVillageSchool.com/summer The Village School Summer Math Camp Flyer 2.
